In the decade of 1990 the Uruguayan grape growing made a very deep transformation of its productive, industrial and commercial structures for the quality wine obtaining and to obtain the suitable presence of such as much in the national market as in the international.
It was a very fast transformation, coverall if the times that are needed to transform a grape growing, by the biological times of the grapevine as by the technological times of the wine consider as much.
Therefore the basic characteristic of this transformation is its dynamism, measured in terms of terms and results, being able of being called the “revolution of the Uruguayan wine”. Doubt does not fit that existed dynamize elements, the true
agents of this fort change process.
The first dynamize element has been the own National Institute of grape growing (INAVI) created in 1987.
The second element that influenced in the dynamics of the process appears in 1991, when it begins to take form The Common Market from Sur (MERCOSUR), although in any
case the transformation already had been initiated.
The third dynamize element was the mighty presence of the modern Uruguayan vineyard highly technician and of the wine warehouses of international quality. It is possible to remember that Uruguay highly has vineyards described from the Seventies and warehouses of prestige with many years some of centennial them.
This fact, among other things has allowed to recognize that the country has natural conditions and human for the quality production and also has constituted a datum point on the yield and competitiveness.
The fourth dynamize agent has been indeed the impulse of the international trade.
