I'm new to Visit-Uruguay. Where do I start?
Choose your destination from the city links on the Start Page.
Each city page provides you with photos, a brief introduction, interesting
links and a list of hotels. Click on the name of a hotel to access a complete
profile of the hotel. You can then check availability by clicking on the "Check
availability" link at the bottom of the page.
Is the site also available in other languages?
Visit-Uruguay is also available in Spanish. We will be adding a Portuguese
version in the near future.
Customers are more than welcome to write to us in English, Spanish, Portuguese,
French or Italian.
Which destinies can I choose between?
At this time, We can offer you hotels in
Punta del Este, Montevideo,
Costa Atlántica,
Colonia, Río de la Plata,
Eco Turismo and Ruta del Vino.
We update our system every day and we're planning to include hotels from every
city of Uruguay in a nearby future.
Where can I find information on travelling to Uruguay?
Our web provides information about travelling
to Uruguay and how to get about once you're in the country. In
addition, we provide links to relevant airline, bus and car rental companies.
How can I find out more about a hotel?
You can access a profile of any hotel by clicking on the hotel name. Each
profile includes color photos, a detailed checklist of room features and
services, business facilities and a complete list of prices. You can then check
availability by clicking on the "Check availability" link at the bottom of the
hotel profile.
Can I search hotels by category and price, as well as by region?
Yes, you can search hotels in two ways:
By category and price range: All the hotels are listed by category (from one
star to luxury resorts) and price range (equal to the lowest and highest prices
for a double room).
By region: Many of the hotels are also listed by geographical area. You may
either choose a hotel from the interactive map available for each city or you
may search the list directly by region. (This feature is under construction at
the moment and will be available soon).
What are the advantages of booking online?
Many of the rates listed in Visit-Uruguay are up to 30% off the hotel's regular
room rates. These prices are only available to customers that book online via
Visit-Uruguay. See some of the things our customers have

There are also multiple advantages to using an online booking system:
• No expensive phone calls or worrying about time differences.
• No language barrier (we accept submissions in English, Spanish, Portuguese,
French and Italian).
• Customers can reserve 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
• Ease of mind: Written confirmation of your booking via email or fax.
• Specificity: Get real answers to specific questions (check-out times, exact
location, business facilities, distance from beach, airport, etc.).
• Immediacy: Direct access to information that is impossible to get over the
phone, such as photos and maps.
• Timeliness: Information is exact and up to date.
Do I get the same rate with Visit-Uruguay as I would by calling the hotel
directly?
Many of the hotels listed here have provided special discounts to our customers
who book directly on line. These rates are only available to Visit-Uruguay
customers. If you reserve by calling the hotel directly, you will receive the
regular room rates, which may be up to 30% higher.
How does the reservation process work and what is a confirmation voucher?
To check availability at any of the hotels, click on the "Check availability"
link at the bottom of each hotel page. You will then fill out a simple
Availability form, stating your choice of hotel, room type, dates of
travel, etc.
Visit-Uruguay receives your request, contacts the hotel directly to confirm
availability and price, and emails you the details, all within 24 hours.
If you then decide you would like to book, you will confirm your reservation
using our Confirmation Center. In order to guarantee your reservation, you will
need to provide your credit card details. This information is sent securely
over our secure server at the Confirmation Center. Please note that no amount
is charged to your credit card. We simply require your credit card details to
hold the reservation for you.
You will then receive a confirmation voucher by email. Your confirmation
voucher lists your reservation details (guest information, name and address of
hotel, arrival and departure dates, room type, total price and cancellation
deadline).
You then simply print out your voucher and present it to the hotel upon
arrival.
How do I pay for my reservation?
Visit-Uruguay is en entirely free service for our customers. You simply present
your confirmation voucher to the hotel upon arrival and pay for your room
directly in the hotel.
Will the hotel contact me if there is a problem with my reservation?
No. Visit-Uruguay will contact you if there is any problem in confirming your
reservation. If there is no availability for the dates you requested, we will
email you immediately and either suggest better dates or recommend a hotel of
the same category.
How do I cancel a Visit-Uruguay reservation?
To cancel your reservation, please send an email to
info@visit-uruguay.com or fax +598-42-482672. Your confirmation voucher
states the deadline for canceling (generally 48 hours in advance).
If you do not cancel your reservation within the deadline stated on your
voucher, you may be billed according to the hotel's cancellation policy (which
is listed in its hotel profile and is clearly indicated on the voucher). This
is generally equivalent to one room night, which is billed by the hotel to your
credit card.
How do I make changes to a Visit-Uruguay reservation?
To make any changes to your reservation, please send an email to
info@visit-uruguay.com or fax +598-42-482672. We will confirm the
changes within 24 hours and send you a new voucher.
Is it safe to give you my credit card number?
Yes, the Visit-Uruguay Confirmation Center is secured with a
Thawte digital certificate which encrypts your personal and credit card
information so that it cannot be seen by anyone while it is sent over the
Internet.
The secure server software we use is the industry standard and represents the
best software available today for secure commerce transactions.
We will not share your personal information with anyone. Only your name and
credit card details will be provided to a hotel to guarantee a reservation you
have asked us to make.

Do I need a visa to visit Uruguay?
Unfortunately we cannot advise customers on visa requirements. You can find out
the necessary visa requirements from the nearest Uruguayan embassy. For a list
